Modern Herringbone Walnut in Buena Vista

This striking project in the historic Buena Vista neighborhood centered on transforming a 2,200-square-foot multi-level home. The homeowner wanted a bold, architectural feature flooring that could anchor their minimal white aesthetic while honoring classic craftsmanship.

• The Challenge: Herringbone patterns demand flawless subfloor metrics. The home's existing joists had shifted over time, resulting in a 1.5-inch slope across the main living zone that would throw off complex geometric points.

• The Solution: The installation crew completely resheeted and shimmed the subfloor infrastructure to dead-flat tolerance. We then meticulously center-lined the space, interlocking 4-inch by 24-inch natural American Walnut planks. Finished with an ultra-matte sealing coat, the floor presents zero glare and a continuous, flowing pattern across transitions.
